Gary O’Neil will be keen to hold on to the Wolves midfielder this summer
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina.
The Reds are still in the market for a midfielder following the signing of Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, and a report from FootMercato claims Liverpool are one of three of the ‘big six’ Premier League clubs ‘closely following’ the Gabonese international.
The report states Liverpool are considering a move for Wolves’ defensive midfielder, although the 29-year-old also has interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
Gary O’Neil won’t want to lose the midfielder this summer, but the report claims his departure from Molineux ‘cannot be ruled out’.
Wolves team news for Brighton clash
Meanwhile, Wolves have no injury doubts going into their clash with Brighton on Saturday.
Matheus Cunha was a doubt for the trip to Old Trafford, but played 77 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United and should be ready once more for the visit of the Seagulls. He delivered a good performance against the Red Devils, despite not being fully fit, having missed a couple of Gary O’Neil’s first training sessions. He will have now had a full week of training under the new boss and there is a hope he can make an impact.
No injury problems have been reported, which means O’Neil will have a clean bill of health to choose from, and will be able to choose a side he feels his capable of beating Brighton, following their positive display against Manchester United. Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia could lead the line again whilst Lemina performed well in the midfield on Monday.
