Bristol Rovers confirm the signing of former Bristol City defender Jack Hunt
Bristol Rovers have confirmed the signing of right-back Jack Hunt on a free transfer after the 32-year-old left Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer.
The defender, who has signed a two-year deal, won the League One play-offs with Wednesday last season and has been a free agent since. He arrives to the Mem as Joey Barton’s side’s tenth signing of the transfer window.
It is also a return to Bristol for Hunt who spent three seasons at Bristol City between 2018 and 2021, making 115 appearances for the Robins
On the 32-year-old’s arrival, the Gas boss said: “We are really happy to welcome Jack to the squad. His experience of getting promoted out of this division as well as playing at a higher level is aligned with our intentions and I am sure he will be a great asset to our group, not only on the pitch but as an excellent character in our dressing room.
The former Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley right-back boasts 289 Championship appearances with a career total of 484 games providing Barton’s squad with invaluable experience. Moreover, he has three promotions on his CV with two coming from League One.
Jack Hunt joins Rovers on a two-year deal.
The right-back, who got promotion to the Championship last season with Sheffield Wednesday, joins as a free agent.
The 32-year-old has played for a host of English clubs including Huddersfield, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
