Wolves have reportedly seen a first bid for Corinthians defender Murillo rejected.

Wanderers currently have just three centre-back options – Max Kilman, Craig Dawson and Toti Gomes.

There is a big hope that the club will be bringing in a new face before the end of the window.

But the financial situation is still very tight right now.

And it is hindering Wolves in their desire to land targets.

Apparently, Wolves have made an offer for Murillo after opening talks – but it has been swiftly rejected.

Wolves see transfer bid rejected for Murillo

According to Goal Brasil, Wolves have made a first bod for Murillo.

It was worth around £10 million, and that was rejected by Corinthians.

Nottingham Forest are also said to have offer the same amount.

Interest in Murillo is pretty high at the moment. Italian clubs Fiorentina and Napoli are also said to have tabled offers for the highly rated 21-year-old.Craig Dawson completes Wolves switch as West Ham confirm 'reluctant' sale | Evening Standard

It is stated that Corinthians are holding out for around £17 million to sell the central defender.

It is not clear if Wolves will be returning with a second, improved bid.

Wolves need a fourth centre-back

So Wolves seems to be quite interested in Murillo, to the extend that a bid has reportedly now gone in.

It looks as though some serious negotiating will be required.

With so many teams keen, Corinthians are surely unlikely to drop their asking price.

Wolves also need to sell their project to the player. Because it’s likely Napoli, who won Serie A last season and are a Champions League club, could greatly appeal.Exhausted Bruno Lage's risk pays off as little-known Toti Gomes steps up for Wolves in Saints win | Daily Mail Online

Wolves are said to be looking to sell Daniel Podence and Jonny Castro Otto at the moment.

If there is movement on this, then it’s possible a second bid can then be made for Murillo.
