Birmingham City are in the picture to sign Josh Maja in the summer window, according to a report from France.
On Monday, Bordeaux announced the striker has left the club after his contract with them expired on June 30th.
French journalist Ignazio Genuardi took to Twitter to reveal Birmingham City’s interest when mentioning the Ligue 2 side’s plans to replace the 24-year-old.
He says John Eustace’s side are ‘particularly interested’ in signing the former Sunderland man in this window. Meanwhile, Bordeaux have identified Maribor’s Žan Vipotnik as his possible successor and have already made an offer of €5m plus bonuses.
Over at L’Equipe, Bordeaux offered Maja a one-year extension with an option of another year and this was on the table for several weeks.
They add he’s now on the agenda of Brest, Stade de Reims, Alavés, Real Valladolid and an unnamed club from the Championship. Birmingham City are the English club if Genuardi’s report is to be believed
