Burnley has officially confirmed the acquisition of French U20 international forward, Wilson Odobert from Troyes. Odobert has inked a five-year contract with the Clarets.
Odobert becomes the ninth player to join Burnley during this summer transfer window.
Upon his introduction to the Turf Moor faithful, Odobert commented, “I was drawn to the vision of the club. The synergy between the manager, the team, and the community of Burnley stood out. My aim is to ensure consistent playtime and give my best for the club.”
Odobert began his footballing journey with Paris Saint-Germain’s academy in 2017.
Despite his promising progression through the ranks, he declined a professional contract with PSG.
Instead, in a pursuit for regular first-team football, he chose to ply his trade with Troyes.
During his tenure with Troyes in Ligue 1, Odobert made 32 appearances and scoring four goals in just one season.
Internationally, Odobert has been active in the French youth circuit, representing the nation from the U16 level through to the U20s. Currently, he has achieved three caps for the U20 side, finding the back of the net once.
Highlighting his playing attributes, the 18-year-old stated, “I prefer an offensive approach, leveraging my dribbling skills and pace. I am primed for the Premier League, and I am eager to begin this new chapter.”
