Aston Villa are still waiting to see if their offer for Galatasaray midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is going to be accepted, according to
The Italian journalist tweeted on 13 August that Villa’s offer for the Italy international has been on the table for two days and that they are still waiting for the green light from the Turkish club.
Romano revealed on 11 August that the Villans had offered a £2.6million loan fee that included the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old for £23.3million.
It seems as though frustration may be building on Villa’s part as they look to quickly bring in a replacement for the injured Emi Buendia, who faces up to eight months out with a knee injury.
The offer for Zaniolo has been on the table for a couple of days and the club need to know whether it’s going to be accepted so they can look to complete the deal or move on to other targets.
The Villans are likely to want to secure a loan deal for whoever they do bring in to avoid having any potential FFP problems after making the big-money signings of Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby.
The need for an attacking midfielder was highlighted in the club’s heavy defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday (12 August), with Unai Emery’s side lacking in the middle of the park.
The 6’3″ Italian could be the perfect man to fill that gap after he has scored five goals in 12 matches since making the move to Galatasaray from Roma in February of this year.
