The Whites are in a perilous position in the Championship, in line to lose more players as their second game of the campaign nears.

Willy Gnonto’s future is dominating the discussion at Elland Road at the moment, mainly due to his non-presence yesterday.

Willy Gnonto to Everton?

Having had an opening bid of £15million turned down back in July, Everton look to be pushing harder to sign Gnonto this week after the Italian’s refusal to play last night.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the forward is still on the radar for Everton to sign, and he has in fact agreed personal terms to sign for the Toffees on a five-year deal this week, hence his absence against Shrewsbury.

However, there is yet to be an agreement between the clubs on a fee to take Gnonto to Merseyside, despite Gnonto’s priority said to be to move to Goodison Park:Willy Gnonto: How the Lionel Messi-loving Leeds winger made history with Italy after leaving Inter at 16 | Goal.com US

The longer Gnonto stays at the club, the more toxic his relationship with the fans will become, because refusing to play is deplorable.

However, we need to make sure that we’re getting a fee north of £20million for him otherwise we’re not getting a sale that’s worth it.

It is interesting that he’s so keen to join Everton, given how bad they were alongside us last season, and the manager they have.

Has Dyche ever had this sort of player in his ranks and it work out? Time will tell here, but it’s not the best fit for Gnonto or Everton.
