He might’: Ben Parker says Leeds are going to miss player, as Thursday reports emerge.
Chelsea are reportedly close to completing a move to sign Leeds United midfielder and USA captain Tyler Adams – and Ben Parker has told Thursday’s LS11 YouTube show that we’re going to miss him, but he might end up staying.
Adams, 24, has been sidelined for a number of months now – after undergoing hamstring surgery. He missed the final third of the season but had he been fit, many fans speculate that his presence might have kept Leeds up.
Either way, relegation looks as though it will see Adams depart. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth posted an update on Twitter today. He said Chelsea activated his £20m clause. A medical could happen in the next 24 hours.
Parker, who will have worked with Adams behind the scenes in his public engagement role at Leeds, said that Leeds would miss a player of his quality – but he could end up staying. He also explained what a great guy Adams is.
“As a person, he is all you want. You want new signings bed themselves in the community – he loves being out and about. Who knows, you want good characters. We’re going to miss his ability, but, he might stay. He is a great guy.”
Parker says Leeds will miss Adams amid reports he is going to Chelsea
It will be a big loss but given he is a similar player to that of Ethan Ampadu, selling him to bring two or three other top players to the club makes much more sense. Perhaps, signing more of a box-to-box midfielder – and a striker.
Leeds have that cash to use now. The 49ers are not skint, but merely trying to work in the confines of Financial Fairplay. Is Chelsea a good move for Adams? He might not start – and Chelsea do not have European football.
