JUST IN:Premier league club receive £40m transfer blow as major Leeds United decision awaits

West Ham have reportedly an made approach for Aston Villa transfer target Tyler Adams.

The Leeds United midfielder has been linked with a move to Villa Park as Unai Emery looks to continue his summer recruitment following the arrival of Youri Tielemans.

But Villa are not the only Premier League suitors for Adams, who now looks set to leave Leeds after they were relegated to the Championship last season.

According to the Daily Mail (via LeedsLive), West Ham have make an approach for Adams, though it’s understood an offer is not on the table as yet. Leeds have put a £40million price tag on the United States international’s head, which could scare off some teams. Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton are also said to be eyeing up the 24-year-old.

Adams made 24 appearances in the Premier League last season, but failed to record a goal or assist from the middle of the park as Leeds finished 19th in the table. He picked up five yellow cards and was sent off once, however. But despite a bad season, he still has the sizeable valuation on him from Leeds.

There is another sub-plot at play, too, with Villa and West Ham also competing for the signature of Leicester winger Harvey Barnes. With the club competing on two transfer fronts, it could make for an interesting summer with transfer battles aplenty.
