West Ham now main contenders to sign int’l attacker, £40m+ transfer fee not an issue – report

West Ham and Monaco appear to be the main contenders to sign Folarin Balogun as Arsenal name their price for the striker, according to the Independent.

The English newspaper wrote on its website on Wednesday (9 August) that the Gunners’ demands of £40million+ are not going to be an issue for the Hammers.

They can afford to pay that money in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old United States international.

Scamacca replacement?

Gianluca Scamacca’s exit to Atalanta makes it imperative for West Ham to dig into the transfer window for another attacking signing.

Had the Italian stayed, David Moyes would not have been worried about that position and could focus on other areas.

However, it has become a priority to get this deal over the line and it’s not going to be done at least until the first match of the season.

They cannot waste any more time and if Ba is the option Moyes wants then they need to go all out to secure his services.Ligue 1 return for Folarin Balogun? Arsenal reject offer from Monaco for USMNT forward | Goal.com India

He could be a phenomenal signing for thlogune club based on his performances in France last season and hopefully, he can carry it on in the Premier League.

Hopefully, he does not take as long as Scamacca did to adapt to the Irons’ style of football.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
