Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as the Reds confirm the signing of goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The 29-year-old becomes Forest’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of full-back Ola Aina and Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga.

He has signed a four-year deal at the City Ground after completing his medical this week. Forest have reportedly paid £7 million up front to Arsenal, with another £3 million possible in add-ons.

Turner made seven appearances during his year at Arsenal, having signed from New England Revolution in the summer of 2022. He played twice in the FA Cup and five times in the Europa League under Mikel Arteta.

He now moves to Forest where, if things go the Reds’ way, he will compete with Dean Henderson for the number one shirt. The club are still working on a deal for Henderson, who they hope to sign on a permanent transfer from Manchester United.

The United states international has won a host of individual awards in his career, including 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.
