On Monday, several claims from the English press stated Burnley are in advanced talks with Sheffield United over a deal for Sander Berge.
This is relayed by TV2 in Norway, who then explain the latest on the deal to take the 25-year-old to Turf Moor. The midfielder didn’t train with the Bees today because he’s getting closer to joining the Clarets.

Berge’s contract expires in 2024 and Sheffield United are ready to part ways with him. In fact, TV2 say they informed his teammates about his potential move to Burnley on Monday.
Vincent Kompany’s side have made progress by agreeing a deal with Sheffield United. The report adds only ‘some details’ of the transfer need to be sorted out before Berge’s move to Burnley is made official.
REAL MORE:
Sander Berge is closing in on a switch to Burnley in a move that raises questions over Sheffield United’s planning for this season. The new campaign gets under way on Saturday and, as it stands, have only 20 players regarded as first team and a further three as fringe players.
Of those 23, seven are currently injured or fighting to be fit for the visit of Crystal Palace. The loss of Iliman Ndiaye last week looks set to be followed by the sale of another star player in Sander Berge, as United cash in on two players who were in the final year of their contracts.
The sale of the Norwegian to Vincent Kompany’s side also raises the question of why Sheffield United want to sell their prize asset to a team that will be regarded as a rival in the bid to avoid relegation next season.
Berge’s departure is expected to be softened by the arrival of Vinicius Souza. The Brazilian defensive midfielder is close to completing his switch from Belgian second-tier side Lommel.
