BREAKING NEWS: Collingwood Right winger Josh Daicos Donate a jaw-Dropping $11 million to build shelter and Education Centres for the Homeless Across…..

In an inspiring act of generosity, Collingwood Football Club star Josh Daicos has announced a record-breaking $11 million donation to fund the construction of shelters and education centres for homeless Australians. The initiative, set to roll out nationwide over the next three years, aims to provide both immediate relief and long-term empowerment to people experiencing homelessness.

The project — titled “The Daicos Foundation for Change” — will focus on building multi-purpose facilities that not only offer safe housing but also deliver education and job training programs designed to help individuals reintegrate into society.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Melbourne Convention Centre this morning, Daicos said his decision came after years of witnessing inequality and hardship during community outreach visits.

“Football has given me everything — a platform, a voice, and the means to make a real difference,” Daicos said. “But I’ve always believed that success means nothing unless you use it to lift others up. This isn’t just about building shelters; it’s about building futures.”

The first phase of the initiative will begin in Victoria and New South Wales, with construction of two flagship centres expected to start early next year. Each centre will include emergency accommodation, classrooms for adult learning, counselling spaces, and partnerships with local TAFE programs to provide vocational training.

Collingwood Football Club President Jeff Browne praised Daicos’ commitment, calling it “one of the most significant philanthropic gestures in AFL history.”

“Josh has always led by example — both on and off the field,” Browne said. “This donation reflects his character, his compassion, and his belief in giving back to the community that has supported him from day one.”

The Australian Homelessness Council also lauded the announcement, noting that over 120,000 Australians experience homelessness each night.

“Josh’s contribution has the potential to change thousands of lives,” said Council spokesperson Angela Morton. “By combining shelter with education, he’s addressing both the symptom and the cause of homelessness.”

Daicos, known for his precision on the wing and his leadership within the Magpies’ locker room, emphasized that this initiative is “just the beginning.” He hopes to inspire other athletes and public figures to take similar action.

“We can’t fix everything overnight,” he said. “But if everyone gives a little — or in my case, a lot — we can build a country where no one is left out in the cold.”

As plans move forward, the football community and the nation alike are hailing Josh Daicos not only as one of the AFL’s brightest talents but as a genuine champion for social change.
