NEWS TRANSFER: Club set to complete £10m transfer after deeming 26-year-old Bournemouth star ‘too expensive.’
Bournemouth appear set to keep Max Kilman, with Napoli now set to sign another left-footed central defender.
The Serie A champions had sounded out the Englishman was a top target earlier this summer.
Napoli sold Kim Min-jae to Bayern Munich, and the South Korean is a big loss for them.
Napoli made one £30 million bid for Kilman, with quickly rejecting it.
The club were thought Bournemouth to be holding out for at least £35 million.
And it looks as though Wolves’ firm stance has paid off, with Napoli now set to complete a move for another player.
Napoli set to sign Natan after deeming Max Kilman too expensive.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are now set to sign 22-year-old defender Natan from Brazilian club RB Bragantino.
The Italian giants have reportedly had a bid of £10 million plus bonuses accepted.
The Daily Mail say that this move comes about after the club deemed Wolves star Kilman ‘too expensive’.
At just £10 million, Natan is considerably cheaper than Kilman.
But he is four years younger, so Napoli will hope that his lack of experience in comparison to Kilman will not be an issue.
Given Wolves’ first Premier League game of the season is just one week away, there is surely now a strong chance Kilman will stay.
Captain Kilman surely staying.
This is a development that will please those desperate to see Kilman stay at Wolves.
Napoli signing Natan surely means they’ll no longer have interest in the 26-year-old.
And that’s a boost for Bournemouth , as much as the club apparently still need to make player sales.
Kilman is not a player the club can afford to lose. Not now, anyway.
He is the new captain at Molineux and is one of just three central defenders at the club.
He has looked so much better with Craig Dawson alongside him and he stands to be a key player this season.
