The 29-year-old player has inked a one-year deal with the Whites, which will run until the summer of 2024.
Byram, who began his professional career at Leeds United, climbed the ranks through the youth setup at Thorp Arch and went on to become a regular fixture in the first team.
He first made his senior debut at 18 in the 4-0 Carabao Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town at Elland Road.
Over the following three and a half seasons, Byram made 143 appearances in all competitions before he moved to Premier League side West Ham United in January 2016.
He was loaned to Nottingham Forest during the 2018/19 season before he transitioned to a permanent position at Norwich City.
At Carrow Road, Byram teamed up with current Leeds boss Daniel Farke, who led the Canaries from 2017-2021.
Following Farke’s appointment as Leeds manager in July, Byram was invited back to train with Leeds and even featured in pre-season games against AS Monaco, Nottingham Forest, and Heart of Midlothian.
His performances have now earned him a contract with Leeds United, making him the third signing of the summer transfer window, following Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow.
