Gassan Ahadme scored on his Cambridge United debut as the U’s beat Oxford United 2-0 on the opening day of the season at the Abbey Stadium.
The forward, who is with the U’s for the season, headed home from close range to double his side’s lead in the 28th minute, after former Blues forward Jack Lankester opened the scoring.
Ahadme played 83 minutes as Mark Bonner’s side made it five years unbeaten on the opening day of the season.
EL MIZOUNI AND CAMARA FACE OFF
Idris El Mizouni played the full 90 minutes upon his return to Leyton Orient as the newly promoted League One side were beaten 1-0 at Charlton Athletic.
Fellow on-loan Blues midfielder, Panutche Camara, came on to make his debut for the Addicks as a 71st-minute sub but missed a sitter in stoppage time to double the Charlton lead. A first-half strike by captain George Dobson was enough for the south Londoners in their local derby.
NDABA’S DEBUT WIN OVER RANGERS
Corrie Ndaba played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean-sheet as the defender made his debut for Scottish Premiership in style with new side Kilmarnock as they beat giants Rangers 1-0 at home.
The victory is the Ayrshire side’s first over Rangers since April 2020 and ends the Ibrox club’s 20-game unbeaten run in opening top-flight fixtures.
The 23-year-old is on loan for the season in Scotland and looks to impress in his seventh loan spell away from Portman Road.
STEWART MAKES HALF-TIME SUB DEBUT
Cameron Stewart came on as a half-time sub to make his Cove Rangers debut as they were beaten 1-0 away at Hamilton Academical in the Scottish League One.
His loan side finished the game with ten men as Paul McGowan was shown a straight red in the 82nd minute.
