ASTON VILLA ARE NOW MAKING A MOVE FOR SUPER Midfielder

Aston Villa In Advanced Talks To Sell Midfielder

Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sell midfielder Aaron Ramsey to Premier League rivals Burnley, according to the Athletic.

Ramsey spent last term on loan in the Championship, with stints at Norwich City and Middlesbrough, giving Burnley boss Vincent Kompany a good opportunity to take a close look at him.

Kompany, who led the Clarets to promotion from the Championship, now wants the 20-year-old at Turf Moor and Burnley are pushing to sign him.

They are now in advanced discussions with Aston Villa, with the Villa Park outfit looking to earn around £12m from selling Ramsey.

The midfielder has not made an appearance in the Premier League for Villa.

As a youth product, his sale will count as pure profit for financial fair play terms for Unai Emery’s side.

Ramsay would be unlikely to have good prospects for regular game time if he does stay at Villa Park and heading to Burnley may offer him a better pathway into the Premier League.

The midfielder has turned out for England at multiple youth levels and is currently with the Under-20s.

Negotiations are ongoing over a £12million deal for the 20-year-old which could potentially include a buy-back clause.

Aaron, the younger brother of first-team star Jacob, is a product of Villa’s academy and captained the team which won the FA Youth Cup in 2021.

He has not made a first-team appearance for the club but did impress during loan spells in the Championship with Norwich and Middlesbrough last season, scoring eight goals in 29 total appearances.

All the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Aston Villa and Wolves as pre-season rounds off.

Aston Villa and Wolves are now closing in on their new Premier League campaigns.

Villa take on Valencia away from home on Saturday night in their last summer outing, while Wolves faced Rennes before turning attention to their league opener, against Manchester United. Though, while pre-season is now coming to a close, we are still likely to see incomings and outgoings aplenty before the window slams shut at the end of the month.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Molineux and Villa Park.

Villa’s Philogene concern

Villa could be set to lose one of their brightest young talents, according to reports.

Jaden Philogene has emerged as one of the brightest young stars at the club amid an impressive loan spell at Cardiff City last season. According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool are now interest in snatching him from Villa’s grasp, already holding talks with the winger.

It’s claimed Liverpool and Newcastle United have already held talks with the player’s representatives, though Villa will be keen to keep hold of the young star, who has been plenty involved during the pre-season.

Wolves continue to struggle in the transfer window amid financial issues, and they are all-but certain to lose out on Alex Scott, according to Ryan Taylor.

Taylor told GiveMeSport: “From what I’ve dug into, it’s not a formality that Bournemouth get Alex Scott, still. That said, I just think Wolves virtually do not have any money at the moment, which is a crazy situation really.

“I think I’ve mentioned to GIVEMESPORT before that Wolves were obviously a team that were knocking on the top six not so long ago, and you just look at their team now, and it’s just so dull. I do fear for Wolves in terms of relegation.
