BREAKING NEWS: Bristol City goalkeeper has joined Championship club Watford on a season-long loan deal move.

The Golden Girls announced news of their latest signing via a post on their official club website this evening.

Clark becomes the second senior goalkeeper on Watford’s books ahead of the new season. She will battle for the number one jersey with the club’s promotion-winning goalkeeper from last season, Jacqui Goldsmid.

Clark is one of the brightest young goalkeepers in the game. The youngster got some senior games under her belt with Coventry United in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons while she provided vital cover for Fran Bentley at Bristol City last season. Clark was a member of the Bristol City squad which won the Barclays Women’s Championship title.

On the international stage, Clark has been in and around the Welsh senior squad for the last two years. She made her debut as a substitute in a friendly against Scotland in June 2021 and she already has nine caps to her name for The Dragons.

Watford have now signed three players ahead of their return to the Barclays Women’s Championship this season. In addition to Clark, The Golden Girls have also signed experienced pair Harley Bennett and Coral-Jade Haines.

REAL MORE:

Arsenal academy trio Michelle Agyemang, Laila Habbert and Katie Reid will join Watford Women on loan for the 2023-24 season. Agyemang, Reid and Habbert were regulars in the Arsenal match day squad last season, especially during the second half of the campaign when injuries bit.

Reid and Habbert didn’t actually get onto the pitch but Agyemang did several times, helping herself to her first senior goal against Leeds in the FA Cup in January.

Agyemang also impressed at the U17 Euros earlier in the summer, scoring three goals for England. Habbert and Reid were both part of that squad too. Agyemang (17), Habbert (16) and Reid (16), are all England youth internationals and will hope over the fence at London Colney to play for the second tier side. Agyemang has already agreed to sign a professional club with Arsenal when she turns 18 in February.Wales goalkeeper Olivia Clark signs Coventry deal - BBC Sport
