Aston Villa have already signed two players who Newcastle United were linked with this summer, now they could make it three.
It has been an exciting summer for Unai Emery’s side, who have completed deals for the likes of Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans and Moussa Diaby.
The latter two have been on Newcastle’s radar over the past 12 months, with Diaby being a major target. It was disappointing to see him sign for Villa, and it will be even more disappointing if he excels under Emery.
But they are not finished there, and are looking to make more signings. And a new report states that they are prepared to pay £25million for another player who Eddie Howe has shown an interest in.
Aston Villa make Tyler Adams move
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are willing to activate Tyler Adams’ £25million release clause to sign him from Leeds United. The report states that they are waiting to discover whether or not the 24-year-old would be interested in a move to Villa Park.
The Daily Mail add that other clubs are keen on Adams, including Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and West Ham.
Newcastle are not mentioned, but the American is someone who has been linked with a move to St James’ Park this summer.
The midfielder impressed Toon scouts when he played against Newcastle last season, leading to speculation that the club could make a move to sign him.
That has not happened as of yet, with midfield additions currently not a priority. That is no reflection on Adams, who is an ‘incredible‘ player.
