Al-Shabab have approached Fulham winger Willian about potentially joining the club despite the Brazilian signing a new contract with the Cottagers.

In a rather bizarre twist, Willian is apparently open to the move to the Saudi Pro League side which represents a rather bizarre twist.

Willian turned down an approach from Nottingham Forest to sign a new two-year contract with Marco Silva’s side but is now seemingly being scouted by the Saudi side.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s tweet, the Saudi side approached the winger with a formal bid and they are now insisting on negotiations with the player’s side.

This is despite the winger signing a new contract with the West London side just ten days ago, it seems the lure of Saudi Arabia is too tough to turn down.

Would he really make the move?

Willian has been in the Premier League for the best part of a decade. Having joined Chelsea in rather dramatic fashion, this included not turning up for his medical with rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

He then made a rather unsuccessful switch to Arsenal for one season, before eventually moving to Marco Silva’s Fulham where he has been a lot more successful.

The 34-year-old winger may well feel that the time is right to make a move to the Saudi League, to try something different, and to earn a shedload of money whilst doing so.How Arsenal flop Willian could be set for shock Premier League return | FootballTransfers.com

According to The Athletic, Al Shabab made the offer of a one-year deal, which would double his wages to over £200,000 a week, earlier this week.

The Athletic also claims that the Saudi side would need to pay a fee for the 34-year-old winger. Fulham have also reportedly not yet received an offer for the Brazilian despite Romano claiming that the Saudi side are pushing for an agreement.

Al-Shabab isn’t one of the big sides in the division and it is perhaps frightening that the side not funded by the PIF (Public Investment Fund) would be able to offer £200,000 for the winger.
