Liverpool have reportedly made contact to sign Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Jesper Lindstrom, who has reemerged as a target for the Reds.
According to Ekstra Bladet via Sport Witness, the Merseyside giants are one of many clubs who have made an approach for the Danish international, with the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham also interested in Lindstrom.
A self-proclaimed Liverpool supporter, Frankfurt are open to selling Lindstrom this summer, with the Bundesliga side hopeful that a bidding war could lead the 23-year-old winger leaving for as much as €55m (£47m).
With Liverpool in the market for a playmaker, Lindstrom ticks a lot of boxes for what Jurgen Klopp is looking for, even if the youngster is more suited to playing out on the wings than centrally.
However, given how versatile the Scandinavian talent is, there could be room for Lindstrom to play a deeper role for Liverpool, a transition that new signing Dominik Szoboszlai is already undergoing.
Indeed, whilst interest is strong in Lindstrom, there’s a good chance that Liverpool could win the race for the winger, especially of the player himself is a fan of the Anfield giants.
Liverpool should put out all the stops to sign Lindstrom
Lindstrom is easily one of the most exciting talents in the Bundesliga, and Liverpool could be a dream destination for the winger given his childhood love for the club and the needs Klopp actually has.
The youngster’s ability to play numerous roles whilst also being a creative force will make Lindstrom a popular figure at Anfield, and moving fast to secure a deal with Frankfurt could be massive.
With other clubs interested, it’s a race against time for Liverpool to secure Lindstrom’s signature, and the Danish international could add a lot to Klopp’s side that has been lost this summer.
