Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Brennan Johnson from Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Brentford have had a bid of £35 million for Johnson turned down.

Forest are looking for as much as £50 million in transfer fees for the Wales international winger, who has “a real talent”, according to Forest legend Stuart Pearce on Sky Sports Football in May 2022.

The Athletic has reported that Tottenham are “monitoring Johnson’s situation carefully”.

Tottenham Hotspur should not pay £50m for Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur should not pay £50 million for Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson in the summer transfer window.

That is simply too much money to pay for for a 22-year-old who does not have a lot of experience in top-flight football

Yes, Johnson has been part of the Forest first team for a number of years now and did well in the Championship, but he has had just one season in the Premier League.

The winger needs to play at least two seasons in the top tier to merit that kind of transfer fee.

In 38 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career, the Wales international winger has scored eight goals and given three assists.

We do not think that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is going to cough up £50 million for a 22-year-old winger.

Tottenham will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The North London club will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.Forest could sign 30 new players by selling Brennan Johnson, but his ability will be cherished

As for Forest, their main objective next season will be to avoid relegation from the Championship.
