Everton have previously been linked with a move for West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio – and with David Moyes set to remain they stand a chance of landing the 33-year-old.

talkSPORT reported (16 January) that the Jamaican has been linked with a move to Goodison Park and that the Toffees were eager to get a January deal over the line.

It’s been a difficult season for Antonio under Moyes. He’s been in and out of the side and is certainly beyond his best years.

ESPN reported on 12 June that the West Ham boss is set to remain at the London Stadium for the 2023/24 season and that could open the door for a summer exit for the striker.

He needs a fresh start. A new manager at the London Stadium could have allowed for that. Everton should be looking to give the striker a fresh start.

A revamped forward line is desperately required. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been injury-prone for far too long. Neal Maupay should be sold as soon as possible and Ellis Simms could also be heading for the exit.

The sooner Sean Dyche and the board kickstart their summer business the better.

It feels as if exits will have to occur before any player can head to Finch Farm for a medical. Amadou Onana feels like the obvious choice to move on.

The Belgian midfielder was a standout performer during the 2022/23 season and could earn the board a significant transfer fee.

His future is certainly one to keep an eye on heading through the summer window.
