GOOD NEWS: A former Forest midfielder signs a non-transfer window contract with the Whites.

Leeds are being hotly tipped with former West Ham, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté. The soon to be 35 year old (December) is a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest in the Summer, and could therefore join the Whites outside of the regulated transfer windows. During his illustrious 17 year career, the Senegalese International has played almost 500 league games, as well as 97 caps for his Country.

 

There has been an increasing demand for Daniel Farke to dip into the free agent market, after losing influential midfield duo Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev to long term knee injuries. Whilst AO Tanaka and Joe Rothwell are proving valuable stand-ins, Kouyate would add both strength in depth, extra quality and of-course experience. He can play as a defensive midfielder, or centre-back.

Joseph hattrick for Spain youngsters

 

Mateo Joseph netted a first half hattrick for Spain U21’s, running out 4-3 victors over Kazakhstan last night. The 20yo was enjoying his first ever start for Santi Sanchez’s side, instantly repaying him in kind with goals in the 15th, 23rd and 44th minute. He was a constant thread to the Kazakhstani defence during his hour long stint, showcasing his predatory instincts in and around the six yard box, where incidentally all his goals came from.
