The East Carolina cross country program will host two meets this fall as part of their four-meet 2024 regular season, the program announced Thursday.

“We are excited for another year of cross country for the Pirates!” said Head Cross Country Coach Billy Caldwell. “Hosting two meets in Greenville allows us to feel the community’s support, which will be crucial as we head into the championship portion of the season. Our athletes are training hard and are eager to compete this fall!”

The Pirates will kick off their season with the inaugural Battle in the Boneyard on Saturday, August 31, at the North Campus Recreation Complex, marking the first time the program has hosted a meet at this venue.

Next, the team will compete in the Adidas XC Challenge, hosted by NC State, on September 20 at the WakeMed Soccer Complex. They will then return home for the annual Pirate Invitational at Overton’s Lake Kristi in Greenville.

The regular season will wrap up at the Panorama Farms Invitational in Virginia on October 19.

The 2024 American Athletic Conference Championships are scheduled for November 1 at the Clapp Cross Country Course in Wichita, Kansas. The NCAA Southeast Regional will follow on November 15 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
