The Giants of New York and Quarterback Purgatory two phrases that, much to the dismay of Giants supporters, have come to be associated together since Eli Manning’s retirement.

Is Daniel Jones heading out of the city?
Daniel Jones was supposed to be Manning’s replacement. The team not only gave Jones a top-10 pick last offseason, but they also gave him a second deal worth $160 million. Unfortunately for the Giants and their supporters, Jones’ quarterback play has generally been below average during his starts, with his performance being above average at best.

Jones will need to recover from his ACL rupture and have a dominant 2024 season because he has a potential out in 2025. If not, he might be leaving New York City. How good is the draft class for 2025?
There is a story circulating that claims the collegiate quarterback class of 2025 won’t be very strong and that having a quarterback, particularly one who is young and inexpensive, is not something you want to need when you enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

That could occur, but there’s also a chance that the 2025 class will have not just a solid quarterback class but a very excellent one.

Some prospects are extremely “tooled” or brilliant athletes who can play themselves into the first round, and possibly even the top ten, but there are also a number of safer possibilities that could be good right immediately.

The person I, along with many others, believe to be the best potential in this incoming class is the one I will be writing about in this breakdown. Carson Beck is the quarterback for Georgia.

I see someone with extraordinary accuracy and poise in the pocket in Beck. He has repeatedly demonstrated this amazing ability to layer the football in zone coverage during his collegiate career. This is best illustrated by one of his more well-known throws, which came from what was likely the best Georgia game of his career thus far—a home victory over Kentucky last season.Beck is athletic enough to play at a higher level.
Most people don’t understand that Beck has a higher athletic ceiling. At 6’4 and 220 pounds, Beck is a larger, more traditional NFL quarterback. Although he does not run as fast as Daniel Jones, he moves perhaps more skillfully than most people realize. As seen in a few of these plays, Beck can combine his agility, poise, and precision to generate amazing plays.

The 2024 G-Day Spring Game saw Beck, a player with a high football IQ, casually look off the single high safety and hit RaRa Thomas in stride for a big play in the fourth quarter, with his team down seven. With less than forty seconds remaining, he got his side inside the red zone, and he did so with Dan Jackson, the single high safety, a senior at Georgia who has made many starts. Beck starts the snap by looking off Jackson to the right side of the field, then hits the top of his drop and gets the ball out by firing a rope.
