LIV Golf players are not included in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, as many golf enthusiasts may be aware.
LIV golfers are effectively disqualified from participating in various major tournaments by the OWGR because they are not taken into account in their ranking system.
Phil Mickelson appears to have had enough and has strongly objected to the OWGR’s treatment of LIV Golf players.
“Perhaps a few LIV players won’t be overlooked. What would happen, though, if NO one from LIV played? Would anyone miss them? What happens when more outstanding players join next year? perhaps the year after that? They will eventually have to answer to sponsors and television, Mickelson stated in a post that has since been removed.
FAAFO, which stands for “F*** around and find out,” is the abbreviation he used to end the message.
The 2024 PGA Championship field was revealed by The PGA of America on Tuesday and will compete next week. Sixteen LIV golfers are on the list.
