Want to go home: Tottenham is able to repurchase a player who is 25 years old.

According to Friday’s issue of Record, Marcus Edwards of Sporting would be open to returning to England during the summer transfer window, which might result in a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger came via Spurs’ youth system, and after failing to establish himself in the first team, he left the club permanently in 2019 to sign with Vitória de Guimarães.

Edwards signed a contract with the Lions three years later, and although it doesn’t expire until 2026, the source claims that Edwards has never disguised his “desire to return home.”

The 25-year-old is eager to play in the Premier League, which explains why.
We reported on Portugal’s demands earlier in the season, stating Tottenham should have a 35% share in any future sales. If Spurs are willing to let go of their former player, this will reduce the cost of the trade for them.

At the end of this season, Edwards will meet with Sporting and his agency to discuss his future.

Although no specific numbers are given, the article claims Sporting has begun Edwards’ successor search. It is unclear if Ange Postecoglou’s side will grant his want to return to London, but he has shown a willingness to do so.
