Before the Premier League match against Leicester, Aston Villa’s coach, Michael Beale, expressed his joy that his wife and three children were “safe, well, and at home” following a car accident.
Beale was still able to make it to the game at King Power Stadium, and shortly after the goalless draw, he tweeted about the event.
Huge gratitude was sent by Beale to the highway traffic police who looked after her and her three children following an accident on the M1. “The car was my world.” A terrible call to receive, but I’m so glad they’re home tonight, safe and well. A day filled with emotions.
Villa manager Steven Gerrard instantly allowed Beale to skip the match after finding out what had happened.
‘Thankfully, Michael’s family is OK, but it obviously shook them tremendously,’ he said. I have often stated that family is the only thing that matters more than football.
We advised Michael to leave and give his family his undivided attention. Yes, he did. Fortunately, they are doing well, and Mick’s statement encapsulates his intense desire to rejoin and support the group.
“The safety of the family comes first, even though they are the employees you desire.” His little ones were in the car with him. They have all made it through, and they are all OK.
A scoreless draw was reached at King Power Stadium during the game.
