SAD NEWS: Potential players reject resign as head coach gets

According to numerous rumours on Thursday, Wooga Poplar and Norchad Omier are both departing Miami and logging onto the transfer portal. Both Omier and Poplar, who started multiple seasons for Miami, contributed to the Hurricanes’ 2023 run to the Final Four. Omier, a 6-foot-7 forward, was selected to the second team of the ACC after averaging 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during 31 starts in the previous campaign. In 120 career games (117 starts), spanning two seasons at Arkansas State and two at Miami, he had career averages of 15.2 points and 11.0 rebounds.

In his third season at Miami (2023–24), 6-foot-5 guard Poplar recorded career highs of 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. His 3-point percentage was 38.5 percent. Throughout the course of 100 games (65 starts), Poplar has averaged 7.7 points and 3.1 boards. The seventh and eighth Miami athletes to access the gateway this cycle are Omier and Poplar. –Chucky Hepburn, a guard from Wisconsin, has committed to transfer to Louisville, according to multiple publications.

Hepburn averaged 9.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game this past season, earning him a spot on the Big Ten All-Defensive Team and a 2022 Big Ten All-Freshman selection. In 2022–2023 Hepburn had his greatest scoring season, averaging 12.2 points per game and shooting 40.5 percent from three-point range. The Nigerian native just finished his second season in Columbus, where he recorded career highs of 6.4 rebounds, 2.6 points, and 2.4 blocked shots per contest.
