SHOCKING DEAL: Miami signs active running back as they

Miami is returning home with transfer running back Damien Martinez for the second time.

Since Damien Martinez entered the portal on the first day of the spring window, Miami has been actively pursuing the highly sought-after Oregon State transfer running back.

Martinez has travelled to Mississippi State and Arizona during the process. The Texas native tweeted that he will no longer be visiting the Bluegrass State, despite having planned a trip to Kentucky later this week. That means that the only excursion left on the itinerary is an official weekend visit to Miami.

Early next week, Simeon Barrow Jr. won’t be the only defensive tackle from Michigan State to visit Miami.

One of the most sought-after athletes on the portal in the spring window, Derrick Harmon, a highly regarded transfer defensive tackle, will also be joining Barrow, as reported by Allen Trieu of InsideTheU and 247Sports. On Wednesday night, we hinted that Miami was trying to pull this off.

In addition to victories and titles, one common indicator of a college football program’s quality is the quantity of NFL Draft selections it has produced. The college football blue bloods are at or near the top of the list of teams with the most all-time NFL Draft selections because talent usually translates into championships. These programmes are also among the most successful first-round selections ever made.

Since the league’s first NFL Draft took place in 1936, over 26,000 players have had their names called. Eighty college football programmes have yielded at least one hundred NFL Draft selections; however, only a select few, like Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC, have more over 400 selections in total.
