The return of Adam Reynolds, Brendan Piakura, and Payne Haas is expected to provide the Brisbane Broncos a boost ahead of their matchup with the Wests Tigers the following weekend.
A number of important players have been out in recent weeks, posing something of an injury crisis for coach Kevin Walters. However, News Corp. now reports that all three will make their comeback simultaneously.
Deine Mariner, an outside back who is expected to return well ahead of schedule, will also be joining the trio when they play the Tigers the following week in Round 7. On Saturday night, they play the Canberra Raiders in Round 7.
The last time Mariner played was in Round 5 versus the Melbourne Storm.
Reynolds, who also missed a match in Round 3, was sidelined with a knee injury in the second half of the match against the Storm.Although his return schedule was not specified, the Broncos should be happy with Round 8 if he can suit up against the joint venture the following weekend.
Jock Madden will probably go back to reserve grade as a result.
Piakura, meanwhile, last participated in Round 3 before getting hurt in a defeat to the Penrith Panthers. Reaching the pitch again against the Tigers would be a turning point in the edge forward’s recuperation, whose projected return period was four to six weeks.
Since his injury, Brisbane has been lacking in edge forwards; however, Jaiyden Hunt, who transferred from the St George Illawarra Dragons to Brisbane during the off-season, has been a standout player for the Red Hill team.
Haas, on the other hand, has also been healing from an injury. The team has indicated that they may give the prop another week to rehabilitate, but they are certain he will make a comeback soon.
