PSG Remains in Discussion with Manchester United Target Over Potential Move to striker.

The Ligue 1 side needs a No. 9 this summer transfer window. Kylian Mbappe appears to be on the way out or at least phased out of the project should he remain.

PSG must also replace the goal production left behind by Lionel Messi, who exited as a free agent.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reports PSG remains in talks with Højlund’s camp. However, the Red Devils are ahead of Paris in the race for the 20-year-old. The Premier League club already has an agreement on personal terms and is the priority for Højlund.

Manchester United should win this race for the Atalanta star. The English side has to work out a fee that the Serie A side deems fair on their part.

Meanwhile, PSG has to work out personal terms with Højlund, convince him to join their project, and then agree to a fee with Atalanta. It’s not impossible, but it’s a tall order to achieve the transfer.

REAL MORE.

Manchester United’s new signing Andre Onana has revealed he spoke to former Ajax teammates Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Donny van de Beek before choosing to join the club.

On Thursday, United announced they had signed Onana from Inter Milan for a fee of £43.8m plus £3.4m in potential add-ons.

Before joining Inter last summer, Onana was a regular for Ten Hag at Ajax where he struck up a bond with three of United’s current players. When asked by the club’s media team who he had spoke to before joining the Reds, he explained: “I spoke with a lot of players and they already advised me how it is difficult to play here [in the Premier League], how nice it is also to be here because the Premier League is special it is not easy for everyone to play in this competition.

But, they have already given me some advice and I guess I have to put it into practice.” When asked specifically about speaking to the former Ajax trio, he added: “Sure [it makes it easier to settle in] because even before I came here I was always in contact with them and they have been giving me advice on how the club is going, how they play, how everything is going on so for me they have helped me a lot and I am very happy to be here.”

While Onana warmed up with the United team on Saturday before the 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium, he did not feature in the matchday squad. However, it is expected he will play some part in the fixture against Real Madrid this week.
