Despite rumoured transfer interest from Manchester United, Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa won’t want to leave Villa Park this summer, according to Alan Hutton.

Under Unai Emery, the 26-year-old has had a fantastic season, starting 29 of Villa’s 32 Premier League games and even earning his first England call-up and cap in friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

“I get it Manchester United are still a huge draw,” Hutton told Villa News

“They’re a massive football club the world over so I would understand him thinking about it. Is that the right move for him? I’m not too sure, it may never come up again but there’s an opportunity where you are, you’ve worked hard to get there.

“The flip side of that is Manchester United are a big team so it will really boil down to him and how he sees his future. It will have to be a big number, Villa put a lot of faith in him and he’s now an international footballer.

“What are we talking £40-£50million? He’s still at a good age, will Manchester United be willing to spend that, I’m not so sure.”

“What, between £40 and £50 million? I’m not sure if Manchester United will be willing to pay that much money for him given his still-good age.

Manchester United told to pay £50million to secure Ezri Konsa transfer from Aston Villa?

Prior to the summer transfer window, a number of Villa’s most important players have already been connected to the departure; Emery may have to sell some of his best players due to Villa Park’s present financial and sustainability issues.

Konsa is unlikely to leave the Villans if they are in the Champions League, even though a move to Manchester United would undoubtedly interest him—especially if Erik ten Hag’s team finishes outside of the top four this season.

In addition to the financial benefit of finishing in the top four, Emery should be able to complete the task because it will help Villa’s recruitment efforts during the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa news also includes the expectation that Emery will sell Tim Iroegbunman this summer due to increased transfer interest.
