Liverpool are reportedly the most likely side to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, who the Cottagers will sell this summer for €60m (£55m).

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds are team most keen on landing the Portuguese international this summer, with Palhinha heavily linked with a move away from Fulham after a sensational first year in England.

Palhinha played a massive role in Fulham’s comfortable comeback year in the Premier League, and as a result, interest has begin to build for the 28-year-old midfielder, namely from Liverpool.

Hailed by Danny Murphy as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Liverpool are firmly on the hunt for a defensive midfielder with Fabinho set to move to Saudi Arabia next week, and Palhinha could be the ideal replacement.

However, whilst Palhinha’s numbers are incredible and the midfielder’s profile is exactly what the Reds are looking for, the Fulham star’s age could be a concern for Liverpool, with a younger option likely the better route to go down.West Ham prepare approach for Fulham star Joao Palhinha as Hammers eye replacement for Declan Rice | Daily Mail Online
