The upcoming season holds great promise for the Cincinnati Bengals. Their nucleus of Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase, and Joe Burrow may not be able to play together much longer beyond the 2024 season. Given that Higgins is franchise-tagged, the likelihood is that he will be dealt during the season, waived, or sign with a another team.

Having stated that, though, Burrow’s standing is still unclear. As you may remember, Joe Burrow missed the entire previous season due to a serious wrist injury. There haven’t been many updates on the Bengals star’s rehabilitation thus far. Fans are a little alarmed about it.

Well, Burrow provided some details about his rehabilitation procedure during a recent news conference. According to Geoff Hobson, the Bengals star provided an encouraging update, stating that he has been following his normal offseason regimen. It’s encouraging for the team, especially since he was last injured less than six months ago.

“I work out daily at the rehab. It always includes that. It hasn’t had a significant impact on my offseason training. I’ve been able to perform nearly all of my typical lifting and conditioning tasks. I’m in excellent physical shape.

The Bengals are hopeful Burrow can get back in time for their preseason games and training camp. Burrow’s lack of a solid training camp has defined his career thus far. The elite quarterback has struggled with an injury during training camp each of his NFL seasons.

An unexpected appendectomy in 2022 kept him out of the preseason. Burrow missed crucial practice time due to a calf injury he had during the Bengals’ training camp the previous season. Many have speculated that Burrow’s sluggish starts to the season are caused by his lack of a strong offseason.

Not to mention the horrific ACL injury that prevented him from playing during his rookie season. The most crucial factor for a successful quarterback is their health. Burrow reiterated that he will “listen to his body” more and not overexert himself, assuring fans, at the very least, that he is making every effort to stay healthy.

“I’m sure I’ve done everything I need to make sure I’m healthy,” Burrow declared. “I’m still working to improve that and increase its efficiency year after year. During the offseason, I should perhaps pay a bit more attention to my body’s needs and refrain from pushing myself like I have in the past. I’m only now beginning to understand my body better.
