Pittsburgh — Tee Higgins, the Cincinnati Bengals’ standout wide receiver, is expected to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Higgins is projected to play for the Bengals in the 2024 season, as he is a franchise player. Next year, however, he is expected to be a player on the move, albeit not far.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report anticipated the outcomes for all of the top wide outs seeking for contracts. Higgins believes the star will remain in the AFC North, joining the Steelers next offseason on a huge contract.

“Higgins plays in Cincinnati under the franchise tag in 2024 before leaving in free agency and signing a four-year, $99.7 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 that includes $59 million in guarantees,” Davenport writes in his article.

Higgins, 25, was the Bengals’ second-round pick in 2020, but was replaced by Ja’Marr Chase the following year. Because Cincinnati will have to pay Chase, they are unlikely to offer Higgins a lucrative contract, implying that he is on the move.

Latest Tee Higgins update is not a great sign for the Bengals

In four years in the NFL, Higgins has twice surpassed the 1,000-yard mark and scored 24 touchdowns. Last season, he had 656 yards and five touchdowns despite missing Joe Burrow for the most of the season.

The Steelers are looking for a wideout to join George Pickens and are thought to be open to trades. If they don’t acquire an explosive option this offseason, they may consider doing it next year. Maybe Higgins will be their first choice.
