Former Green Bay Packers offensive line coach Larry Beightol, widely regarded as one of the greatest offensive line coaches in NFL history, died Thursday at the age of 81.
Beightol died in Fayetteville, Ark., of complications from diabetes, dementia, and heart failure. Beightol was an NFL coach from 1986 until 2006. He was an offensive line coach for eight different NFL clubs.
Throughout his extended career as a coach in the NFL, Larry Beightol assisted many different teams. He started his career with the Atlanta Falcons in 1986 and finished his career with the Detroit Lions in 2006. In between those two one-year stints, he coached for these teams:

His most notable experience was with the Packers. He originally joined the team under head coach Ray Rhodes. Mike Sherman, the new head coach, invited Beightol back in 2000 as one of the few assistants who survived the regime shift.
With Beightol on the staff, the Packers won five games and made the playoffs four times. He only had two other winning seasons, both with the Miami Dolphins, before joining the Packers.
