The Dallas Cowboys are about to sign many contract extensions, one of which will most likely be a bank-breaker. Aside from probable new contracts for quarterback c and pass rusher Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is also due a large salary.

Lamb is coming off a first-team All-Pro season and has only one year remaining on his rookie contract. He has proven himself as an exceptional receiver, which is why Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine believes the team will make him one of, if not the highest-paid wide out in the NFL.

“Among the top receivers on the market, Lamb appears to be the least likely to be on the move…” A contract paying him $31 million per year qualifies, and the Cowboys have the future cap room to make it possible. He surely earned it after making his first All-Pro appearance in 2023. On April 6, Ballentine predicted that Lamb will sign a five-year, $155 million extension this summer.

Lamb has improved with each season, and his on-field relationship with Prescott peaked in 2023. Having said that, Prescott is part of the issue with extending Lamb.

Prescott is also in need of a contract extension, but according to recent sources, Dallas has not offered one. When it comes to large extensions, the Cowboys must exercise caution and avoid overbooking.

CeeDee Lamb Sets Career Bests

Lamb has stepped up his production each year, but 2023 was different gravy. The former Oklahoma Sooner put out personal bests in almost every statistical category.

NFL Exec Believes Cowboys Are Trying to Low-Ball Prescott

As mentioned above, Dallas has yet to extend Prescott and don’t seem to be in a rush to do so. According to The Athletic reporter Mike Sando, an anonymous NFL exec believes the team’s lack of free agency additions could be purposefully setting up a mediocre season for both the team and Prescott.

As previously said, Dallas has yet to extend Prescott and does not appear to be in a rush to do so. According to The Athletic’s Mike Sando, an anonymous NFL executive believes the organisation’s lack of free agent additions may be intentional, setting up a disappointing season for both the team and Prescott.

“If the guy wants $60 million per year, you know what we are going to do instead?” the unidentified executive remarked. “We are going to have an average team, and you are going to play worse and we are going to get you at a better price.”
