Newcastle United are exploring a summer deal for Middlesbrough custodian Seny Dieng, according to The Telegraph.
In their most recent transfer notebook piece, Mike McGrath and John Percy report the Senegalese international is garnering interest from a number of Premier League and European clubs after impressing at the Riverside since coming from QPR last year.

The notion that we’re in the market for another backup custodian now Loris Karius is out of contract this summer and looking for a Serie A club to bring him closer to his partner (who works in Italy) and daughter.

Crystal Palace, Ipswich – who are now leading the Championship – and Sevilla in La Liga are all said to be interested in the 29-year-old. Boro paid £2 million for him last summer, and he is expected to cost roughly twice as much this time around.
Dieng is seeking to take Senegal’s number one shirt away from former Chelsea custodian Edouard Mendy, who saved a penalty for his country in a recent match against Benin.
