Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are reportedly very keen on signing Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.
According to The London Evening Standard, Newcastle United are interested in signing Antonee Robinson from Premier League rivals Fulham in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Newcastle “actively pursuing Robinson”, and so are French club Marseille.
Fulham are reportedly ready to sell the defender for £35 million.
According to the report, Robinson “is refusing to sign a new contract with just one year on his current deal and is now expected to leave Craven Cottage”.
Could Newcastle United sign Antonee Robinson from Fulham?
In our opinion, Newcastle United could be able to sign Antonee Robinson from Fulham in the summer transfer window.
First of all, Fulham want to offload the 25-year-old left-back.
And they want £35 million for the USA international.
So, for Newcastle, it is a very simple and easy deal.
Pay Fulham £35 million and then try to do a deal with the left-back.
Given that Newcastle are a club on the rise under owners PIF and manager Eddie Howe and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, they are unlikely to be able to find it too tough to convince Robinson to switch to St. James’ Park.
Robinson is rated very highly as well
According to Fulham Sporting Director con the club’s official website in August 2020, Robinson “works hard and is known for being an excellent teammate with a great attitude”.
