Nottingham Forest boss fires Arsenal warning over Morgan Gibbs-White transfer

Nuno Espirit Santo has warned that  will not discuss any summer transfer while his team are engaged in a fierce relegation battle. The Midlanders were hit with a four-point deduction for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations so dropped into the relagation zone.

Ahead of their home clash with Crystal Palace this afternoon, Forest sit one point behind Luton in 18th place. To avoid any further punishment next season, Nuno’s side will have to sell some of their star players.

He said: “That’s not even an issue for us. The situation we are in we are not going to start thinking about the transfer of players. It’s absurd and a mistake. We don’t think about that at all.”

Forest have a favourable run of fixtures coming up. They are at home to Palace, Fulham and Wolves in their next four outings. And Nuno is looking for an instant response after dropping points against relegation rivals Luton last time out.

He added: “They [the players] were disappointed, but there was an immediately a reaction to say ‘OK, it’s in our hands to change this – let’s forget about everything else and stick together for these seven weeks.’

“I don’t just sense it, I see it, because we work together every day. I see that commitment in every one of them. That’s why we are confident we are going to change it.”
