Newcastle United and Quidd have launched the club’s first multi-year business collaboration.

Animoca Brands’ subsidiary Quidd is an NFT marketplace and digital collectible.

A statement from the club read: “The partnership will provide Newcastle United supporters around the world with the opportunity to build and trade collections of officially licenced digital trading cards, digital video moments, and digital memorabilia on Quidd while unlocking a number of exclusive experiences.”

Limited-edition digital trading cards featuring Newcastle United will be made available on the Quidd marketplace on March 28 at 2:00 PM (GMT) as part of the agreement. In an effort to boost revenue and defy the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules, the team has unveiled its latest commercial agreement.

“Quidd is the ideal partner for our first-ever, officially licenced, digital collection,” said Peter Silverstone, chief commercial officer of Newcastle, with regards to the collaboration.

“As Newcastle United’s fan base grows internationally, it’s critical that we discover fresh, creative approaches to forge close bonds with the team’s followers wherever they may be and on a range of media.

 

Michael Bramlage, chief executive of Quidd, continued, saying, “We’re excited to work with Newcastle United as we expand into the sports collectibles market.

“An integral part of football culture is the collection of football cards and stickers.

Our collaboration with Newcastle United will highlight the special qualities of digital collectibles as a quick, simple, and enjoyable method to amass, modernising a time-honored pastime.” almost the last 12 months, Newcastle has already reached agreements on almost £65 million worth of commercial partnerships. In addition to the £25 million sponsorship agreement with Sela that was finalised last summer, the team has an upcoming five-year kit manufacturing agreement with Adidas that is scheduled to begin this summer and is estimated to be worth approximately £40 million annually.

Adidas will reappear as Newcastle’s uniform supplier for the first time since the 2009–10 campaign.
