The East London outfit were keen to sign the 19-year-old Leeds forward this summer
And it’s little wonder as to why, with Hammers boss David Moyes desperate to add more pace and power to his front-line in the summer transfer window.
However, it seems as though the Scot will now have to set his sights elsewhere…
West Ham United transfer news: £20 million David Moyes target is now set to join Everton
Sport Italia reckon that Gnonto is closing in on a move from Leeds to Everton, after his agent Claudio Vigorelli travelled to London to dot the I’s and cross the T’s.
The teenager has been described as ‘unbelievable’ by his teammate Junior Firpo (Leeds Live).
The diminutive Italian would be a really fine addition for the Hammers in my opinion. So losing out on his signature to Everton really is inexcusable.
Gnonto has explosive pace – something that we are currently desperately short of across our front-line.
The Italian forward bagged four goals and four assists in 28 games for Leeds during his debut campaign in England (Transfermarkt) – a mighty impressive return for someone so young.
He is available for around €24 million (£20 million) according to Sport Mediaset.
Wilfried Gnonto moving to Everton should be a big wake-up call for West Ham in my opinion. There is obsoletely no reason why we shouldn’t have signed him this summer.
