In fact, it was enough to ensure that he left St James’ Park on crutches whilst wearing a moon boot. That was a worrying sight on Saturday night, although there was some hope when he was seen out and about on Sunday by fans without the moon boot.

er, Anthony Gordon looks to have become Newcastle’s latest casualty, and iNews have provided an update on his immediate availability.
Newcastle look set to be without Anthony Gordon vs Nottingham Forest
According to iNews, Gordon will ‘almost certainly’ be unavailable for Saturday night’s game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
That will be an absolutely massive blow, at a time when Alexander Isak is also out of action. There was a chance that he could have featured against Luton, but he was nowhere to be seen when the team was announced.
Gordon’s injury will put pressure on two of Newcastle’s returning players. Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson returned on Saturday, and Eddie Howe is now in a position where one of them might have to start against Forest.

It is going to be a really tough game, against a side who already has a victory over Newcastle this season. The Magpies will be out for revenge, but they might have to get it without Anthony Gordon.
Hopefully the £40million winger is not out of action long-term, as he has been one of our best players this season and our biggest threat in the final third. Gordon 15 goal contributions so far, but it is unclear when he will be able to add to that tally.
