Newcastle massive deal have collapsed

The last Newcastle United transfer round-up for the January transfer window is presented to you by Football FanCast.

The Toon had a busy summer, bringing in five new players in all, including Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, and Tino Livramento.

The exit door was even busier, though, with 11 players waving goodbye to St James Park either temporarily or permanently, like in the case of Allan Saint-Maximin.

But now, attention turns to 2024. With Eddie Howe no longer needing to balance Champions League football with their Premier League ambitions, the heavy Saudi investment is set to continue as the Magpies aim to focus on an immediate return to the premier club competition.

Following the Saudi takeover in October 2021, the Tynesiders have outlaid a whopping £380m in the four transfer windows that have ensued – and that figure is only expected to increase by the time January has been and gone.

Newcastle have been linked with Armando Broja and are currently sweating over the fitness of Alexander Isak who was forced to leave the pitch on Tuesday against Aston Villa.

And with Callum Wilson remaining unreliable through his own injury issues, perhaps the Toon could look to make a late move for Broja.
