Without Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan Wolverines are adjusting to life in the real world. Although Sherrone Moore, the offensive coordinator, was promoted, which helped stabilize the program, there will be a lot of changes soon. Players quitting the program will be one of the adjustments that takes place. Reece Atteberry, a defensive lineman, was the first Michigan player to access the transfer site.
Losing Michigan Wolverines Atteberry, Reece
Reece Atteberry, a defensive lineman for Michigan, has registered as a graduate transfer on the portal.
Throughout his time at Michigan, Attebury has participated in every game. He has experience playing both defense and attack. Attebury was regarded as the hub of the future when he joined the program. But he was never able to settle in and eventually moved to the defensive line. There, he was a rotational player who was never able to break into the starting lineup. Attebury is about to depart Ann Arbor in search of a fresh start.
It is shocking that Attebury is the first player to leave. He wasn’t a starter, so the loss doesn’t hurt as much if you are a Michigan fan. Normally, in these situations, players flock to the portal, and recruits revoke their commitment. We haven’t seen that with this program. It speaks to what the players think about Moore. It also may have something to do with many starters going to the NFL. This leaves many starting positions open, and players could be eager to start for one of the biggest programs in the nation.
