Another Five-Star QB transfer deal have collapsed

LSU landed its quarterback of the future in five-star signal-caller Bryce Underwood in early January, but there was another player on the program’s radar leading up to the decision.

That target: 5-star George MacIntyre.

The Tennessee native, who’s taken several trips down to Baton Rouge over the last few months, quickly became a quarterback Joe Sloan and the Tigers pushed for.

The Bayou Bengals had a 1A and 1B plan: Underwood or MacIntyre.

After securing Underwood, it halted any chances of the Tigers landing MacIntyre, but now the five-star has revealed his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers.

MacIntyre had a final three schools consisting of LSU, Alabama and Tennessee. Now, the elite-level 2025 prospect will remain home and suit up for the Volunteers.

When it comes to the purple and gold, the LSU football staff sent shockwaves across the college football recruiting scene after landing a commitment from five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood in early January.

A program-changing prospect, the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class is a Tiger.

Now, the Bayou Bengals are keeping their foot on the gas for Underwood’s services. LSU’s Joe Sloan and Frank Wilson took the trip up to Michigan on Friday to visit with Underwood.

Underwood’s commitment is one of the biggest recruiting victories of the modern era and this program is making sure to continue pushing for him after his pledge.

LSU has reached elite status in the 2025 cycle, with Underwood joining Harlem Berry (No. 1 RB in America) and Dakorien Moore (No. 1 WR in America) in the class.

It’s a cycle that will move the needle for years to come. The trio of five-star, No. 1 prospects at their position will look to rejuvenate the program for the long haul
