This past season, the Michigan Wolverines took home the National Championship. However, they are susceptible to offseason attrition just like everyone else. On Wednesday, a defensive back who is no longer with the team made his destination known via the transfer portal.

In order to play in Mississippi, Amorion Walker will exchange his blue and maize jersey. Walker’s transfer from Michigan to Ole Miss is significant for the Rebels, who have been using the portal quite a bit.

The transition from one Big Ten strength to a rising SEC danger was covered by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“Amorion Walker, a former Michigan wide receiver, has committed to Ole Miss,” wrote Fawcett.

Walker attended the University of Michigan for two seasons. Recruited for the class of 2022, he made intermittent appearances during his two years at Ann Arbor. He participated in five games as a sophomore in the Wolverines’ championship-winning campaign, after his six games as a freshman. Despite playing little this year, he managed three tackles and a 0.5 TFL.

With this decision, Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin is taking a chance. The Rebels might benefit a great deal from a cornerback depth transfer. They will require all the assistance they can get because they will be playing against some offensively potent clubs. Ole Miss has just made a major splash on the gateway with this. They have been very busy, with former No. 1 recruit Walter Nolen drawing the most attention.
