Even without the best seed in the NFC, the Dallas Cowboys are a real contender for the Super Bowl and will have an advantage going into the postseason. Being the greatest quarterback in the conference, Dak Prescott is playing football at an MVP level and provides America’s Team a chance to win against any team in the league.
The last obstacle to winning the conference is defeating the renowned San Francisco 49ers, but Prescott’s good start following the bye gives Dallas the assurance it needed in Week 5. Prescott’s play gives me hope that things can be different, though I’m not sure whether it will be sufficient.
The Cowboys will go as far as their quarterback leads them, to put it plainly.
Peyton Manning, the two-time Super Bowl champion and five-time MVP, discussed Prescott and his importance to this squad on “This Is Football.”
Manning stated, “Dak is doing the same things he’s done all season if the Cowboys play well in the playoffs.” “He’s been cool, collected, and composed right now.”
Prescott’s character to be a franchise quarterback has long been recognized. Few, if any, handle as much (usually unjustified) criticism as Prescott does, and your least favorite TV commentator wants you to forget how difficult it is to maintain success at this level.
But in the second half of the season, he silenced his skeptics by taking the offense to elite status and winning the NFC East with the assistance of the Philadelphia Eagles’ collapse.
Manning said, “Dak is doing the same things he’s done all season if the Cowboys play well in the playoffs.” “He’s been cool, collected, and composed right now.
Prescott’s aptitude as a quarterback for a club has long been acknowledged. Prescott takes a lot of criticism, most of it unwarranted, and your least favorite TV pundit wants you to forget how hard it is to be successful at this level. Few, if any, take criticism as well as Prescott does.
He’s done a good job not only with the attention but also handling opposition defenses.
He led the league in touchdown passes (36), set career highs in completion percentage (69.5%), and passer rating (105.7) in 2023. In the process, he has passed for 4,516 yards and only managed nine interceptions.
Star receiver CeeDee Lamb has been fed targets by him in part because of his explosive play. The two have established themselves as one of the best quarterback-receiver tandems in the league, and they are ready for the Green Bay Packers to visit Arlington on Sunday for a crucial Wild Card Weekend matchup.
“He has performed incredibly well. Manning remarked, “He and CeeDee Lamb seem to have something special going on.” “I believe that in order for the two of them to maintain that connection, they need to hit some of those explosive plays that simply shorten those drives.”
Lamb had an incredible 181 targets at the end of the regular season, resulting in a league-high 135 catches, good for 1,749 yards and twelve touchdowns. He’s going to set the market at receiver very soon, in case it wasn’t obvious already.
Manning lavished the dynamic combo with accolades, but he is well aware that fall statistics, no matter how exceptional, are meaningless when compared to a Lombardi Trophy.
“I’m cheering Dak on. “He’s had an incredible year,” Manning said in closing. “He deserves to be in the MVP running, and I’m hoping he has a successful postseason.
